Malkangiri: A group of Naxals torched a bus after asking the passengers to alight in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Sukma district on Friday evening.

The private bus was heading to Dantewada in the evening when the rebels stopped the vehicle near Bhusaras, asked the passengers to get down and set it ablaze.

There were no reports of any casualty in the incident. All the passengers were taken to safety, sources said.

Meanwhile, the security forces reached the spot and launched combing operations to nab the ultras.

On August 8, Naxals had set ablaze two buses in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. All the occupants were asked to get down from the buses. However, the charred skeleton of a person was later found inside one of the burnt buses.
