Naxal nabbed after encounter in Odisha border
Malkangiri: A Naxal was nabbed after sustaining bullet injuries in a firing by the security forces at Dantewada district, near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on Thursday.
According to SDPO Dharmendra Patel, more than four Naxals have been injured in the firing which took place in the Madakamiras and Samalbar forest in Dantewada district today.
The security forces were on a combing operation when they came across a group of rebels hiding in the forest. Soon a gun battle erupted between the outlaws and police forces.
The security forces arrested one injured Naxal named Bhima. Reportedly, Bhima was working as a sentry in the rebel organisation. He has been admitted to the Kirandol hospital for treatment.
“A search operation is underway by the security forces to trace the other injured Naxals,” said Patel.
