Naveen, Political Leaders Condole Demise Of Former Odisha MP Baishnab Charan Parida

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of former Member of Rajya Sabha, Baishnab Charan Parida who passed at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar today morning.

Patnaik on his official Twitter handle expressed grief over his demise.

The Odisha CM also conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family of the late politician.

Many political leaders from various political parties including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Niranjan Patnaik condoled Parida’s death.

Parida was undergoing treatment at AMRI hospital for the past nine days. Parida was detected with cancer around 7-8 months ago.

Born in Srirampur in Jajpur district on February 15, 1941, Parida was elected to the Rajya Sabha in July 2010 as a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) nominee.

He was the state Samajwadi Party president from 1999 to 2008.

The politician, writer, and social activist was spearheading the Odia Bhasha Andolan movement for Odia language in the state.
