Naveen felicitates 100 teachers on Guru Divas


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated as many as 100 teachers of the state on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at Jaydev Bhawan here in a special function organised by the School & Mass Education Department.

The felicitated teachers, including 25 women, received award from the CM along with Rs 25,000, a citation and a scarf each.

Respecting the duty and responsibility of teachers Naveen said that the role of teachers in building the nation is ever admirable.

Education is a powerful key for development. The state government is taking various initiatives to increase the quality of education in the state including appointment of new teachers, their training with changes in syllabus and evaluation system, he added.

“Greetings to teachers on #TeachersDay & homage to scholar, philosopher & former President of India Dr S Radhakrishnan on birth anniversary,” he tweeted.
