Naveen expresses grief over Odia jawan’s death in J&K’s Pulwama

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief over the death of Odia jawan, Ajit Kumar Sahoo, who was martyred in Kashmir on June 18.

Patnaik extended heartfelt condolences to the family members of the slain soldier who died in an encounter with militants on the line of duty.

The Odisha CM took to Twitter and wrote: “Salute to the supreme sacrifice of the brave soldier; my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family.”

Sources said the mortal remains of the jawan will reach his native village today.

Sahoo hailed from Badasuala village in Kamakhyanagar area of Dhenkanal district. He had joined the Indian Army in 2015.

Notably, suspected militants on Monday evening attacked an Army convoy in Arihal area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, with an improvised explosive device (IED), fitted in a car.
