Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today congratulated the new recruits of OPTCL and urged them to adhere to the mantra of 3Ts—Team Work, Transparency and Technology.

Patnaik today graced the induction programme of newly-recruited Electrical Engineers of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited, held at Soochana Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister also stressed that the newcomers should deliver their best professional ability for the growth of OPTCL as well as Odisha power sector. Patnaik said that he is personally monitoring the progress.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Minister has approved the implementation of 7th Pay Recommendation for OPTCL employees in the recent past.

In his welcome speech, OPTCL CMD and Energy Commissioner-cum-Secretary Hemant Sharma presented many successful facts pertaining to the achievement of OPTCL.

“The State-funded Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project— ODSSP, worth Rs 3843 crore is also implemented by OPTCL. The progress and impact so far are praiseworthy. The scheme has resulted in good improvement of voltage profile in the State,” said Sharma.

OPTCL Director (HRD) Rajendra Senapati expressed his deep gratitude to the Chief Minister for timely approval of proposals for filling up of vacancies in OPTCL.

Notably, the OPTCL has taken up four recruitment drives through a competency-based modern talent acquisition process i.e. online Computer Based Test (CBT) during the last two years. This has helped the State Government to recruit highly skilled and talented young professionals in Odisha Power Sector. OPTCL, since 2010, has recruited 1762 professionals from various disciplines including this batch of 100 electrical engineers.
