National Tribal Dance Festival to begin from today


Bhubaneswar: The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute in association with ATLC and Tata Steel has organized a ‘National Tribal Dance Festival’ which is slated to begin today( December 15) at Utkal Mandap here in the city.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to inaugurate this festival today at around 6:30 pm in the evening where tribal artistes from Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam and Chhattisgarh will perform dances.

Tribals belonging to Santal, Oraon, Durua, Lanjiasoura, Dongaria Kandh, Kisan and Kondh from Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Rayagada and Phulbani districts will perform dances. Around 22 dance performances will be presented during this three day dance festival.

The dance festival will be organized every day for two hours from evening 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
