Missing youth’s bike exhumed after 3 weeks; locals block road
Bhanjanagar: Vehicular movement was disrupted as hundreds of locals staged a road blockage at Bhanjanagar-Daspalla road near Bhogara village under Tarasing police limits last night after a missing youth’s bike was exhumed from Kiriamba forest under suspicious condition.
The missing youth identified as Jitu Pradhan was an MBA student from Bhogara village has been missing for the past 20 days.
Reportedly, Jitu went missing on August 28, following which his family members lodged a complaint at Tarasing police station.
After police failed to find the missing youth, a rally was carried out on September 11 against by hundreds of locals of Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Nayagarh alleging police negligence.
After receiving a tip-off about the youth’s missing bike the villagers reached the forest and found the bike buried in a secluded place. Following this, the irate locals staged a protest demanding a proper police investigation into the case.
The agitators and family members suspect that Jitu might have been murdered over the business rivalry. They claimed that Jitu had a financial dispute with his friend, who was running a poultry farm business in partnership with him.
