Uttar Pradesh: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five persons in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh.
According to sources, five employees of the hospital located at Badaun Road gang-raped the minor in the ICU despite having an oxygen mask on her face.
The victim narrated her ordeal to her grandmother on Friday, after which the police registered a case and started an investigation following the intervention of MLA Rajesh Mishra alias Pappu Bharataul.
According to sources, the 16-year-old girl, hailing from Bhumora area, was bitten by toxic worms. For many days she was treated by doctors of nearby areas before being shifted to the private hospital on Monday.
The sick girl was undergoing treatment in the ICU. After staying on the ventilator till Wednesday, when her condition became normal, five employees raped her on the same night.
According to the victim, she was given an injection of intoxication by the five accused who tied up her hands and legs and took turns to rape her even as the oxygen mask was applied to her mouth.
Among the accused, one was a compounder while four others do cleaning and other work in the hospital, she said.
