Cuttack: The Bargarh district administration has made specific arrangements for smooth and hassle free conduct of the Matriculation (HSC) examinations that are beginning from Friday as seven centres for the ensuing examinations located in the Bijepur Assembly segment will be utilised as polling booths for the February 24 by-poll.
Officers of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) said here on Thursday that the polling on Saturday would not clash with the examination schedule. “Since there is no examination on Saturday, the seven schools will be refurbished on Sunday for the Monday’s examination,” informed BSE Controller of Examination Dr NR Mohanty.
Sources said the polling parties have been asked by the District Election Officer to arrive at the schools on Friday evening after the day’s examination is over in the afternoon. Similarly, after the polling on Saturday, the polling parties will leave the schools by same night itself so that the schools will be made ready on Sunday for Monday’s examination.
Board officials further informed that all preparations for the State-wide examinations to begin from Friday were over. Over six lakh students will write the examinations this year in over 3,000 centres. Special arrangements have been made to ensure that the fortnight-long examinations are held smoothly.
“A three-tier squad at zonal, circle and school levels is in place to check malpractices during the examinations,” said BSE President Dr Jahan Ara Begum. She said the BSE has also formed special squads to keep a strong vigil on the examinees. Besides, the district Collectors and SPs have also been urged to extend their help for disturbance-free conduct of the examinations, she added.
