Paris: Two-time French Open champion Maria Sharapova pulled out of the year’s second Grand Slam tournament on Tuesday due to a shoulder injury.
The 32-year-old made the announcement through her Instagram Story on Wednesday.
The former world number 1 hasn’t played a competitive match since she featured in the St Petersburg Open in January.
Earlier, in the month of February, she revealed to have undergone a small procedure and said her comeback at the Miami Open. However, the five-time Grand Slam champion was forced to delay her comeback time and time again, pulling out of the Miami event, the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and the Italian Open.
