Maoists torch three sand lifting excavators in Koraput
Koraput: In yet another tragic incident lead by the Maoists, three excavators have been torched at Darliput under Padua police limits in Koraput district on Monday.
According to police sources, the ultras have committed this in protest of mining sand from a quarry. A group of armed rebels went to the sand quarry situated at the bank of Patali River and set the excavators on fire.
Padua IIC Kailash Chandra Sethi said the Koraput-Srikakulam divisional committee of the CPI (Maoist) was involved in the arson.
“We have launched a manhunt to track down the offenders,” said ASP (Koraput) V R Rao.
