Maoists torch liquor shop, beat its 3 staff in Rayagada


Rayagada: A few days after exploding bomb at Daikallu railway station in Rayagada, Maoists torched a government-run liquor shop late last night at Raghubari village under Ambadola police limits in Rayagada.

Besides, the red extremists set a motorcycle ablaze which was parked in the liquor shop’s premises and thrashed three of its staff.

Some posters were also left by the Maoists at the spot in which it has been mentioned that this move conveys opposition towards Operation Green Hunt and called for a ‘liquor-free Odisha’.

As per reports, as many as 15 armed Maoists barged into the liquor outlet and beat up three staff.

A probe has been launched by the Ambadola police into the incident.
