Maoists kill tribal man in Malkangiri suspecting him to be police informer
Malkangiri: Maoists killed a tribal man near Dhakadrasi village under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district, suspecting him to be a police informer. The deceased has been identified as Anantaram Bhumia of Barubeda village.
According to sources, two persons called Bhumia from his house to join them in a cultural programme in the nearby village. But, they took him to a secluded place where a group of 30-40 armed red rebels were present.
Later, they conducted a ‘praja court’ and hacked him to death accusing him to be a police informer.
The family members of the deceased found the body this morning and brought it home with the help of villagers.
It is suspected that the Militia group is behind the killing of the tribal man.
Meanwhile, police have sent the body for postmortem and have also launched a massive search operation in the area to trace the movement of rebels.
