Maoist training camp busted in Nuapada forest


Nuapada: Security forces busted a Maoist camp near Kundan Jharia village under Sinapalli police limits on late Monday night and seized a cache of arms and explosives from the spot.

Acting on reliable inputs regarding movement of red rebels, a joint team comprising of CRPF and DVF jawans launched a combing operation from Patdhara reserve forest area of Nuapada district on Sunday night.

During the operation the security forces came across the camp, which is believed to be a training camp for Maoist cadres. On seeing the jawans, the Naxals fled into the deep forest.

The jawans recovered one single shot rifle, nine detonators, three gelatin sticks, electric wires, batteries, four arrows, Naxal literature text books, blackboard, two air rifle bullets, medicines, soldering irons, remote sets, five haversacks and Maoist uniforms.

This apart, the security personnel also recovered a large number of personal use items and training materials from the spot.

It is assumed that the Maoists were running a training camp in the particular location, which was raided by the security forces.
