Manohar Parrikar to continue as Goa CM: Amit Shah
New Delhi: Putting to rest all speculations surrounding the appointment of a new chief minister of Goa, BJP national president Amit Shah on Sunday said that Manohar Parrikar will continue to lead the state.
“After discussion with the core team of the party in Goa, it has been decided that Manohar Parrikar will continue leading the state government,” Shah tweeted.

The BJP president, however, said that there would be changes in several departments and the Cabinet of the state government soon.
Shah’s statement came a few days after the opposition Congress, which is also the single-largest party with 16 assembly seats, staked claim to form a government in the state in the wake of ailing health of Parrikar.
The opposition Congress had claimed that it has support of over 21 MLAs in the 40-seat assembly and urged the Governor to dissolve the House and give it a chance to form the government.
