Man falls off moving train in Kalahandi, dies

Narla: A 52-year-old man was killed after he came under the wheels of an express train in platform no. 2 at Narla road railway station in Kalahandi district on Sunday morning. The deceased, identified as Purnachandra Kumar, hails from Sripur village in the district.

The incident occurred when Kumar was on his way to home from Rayagada in Puri-Ahmedabad Express train.

Eyewitnesses told the police that Kumar allegedly stepped out from the running train while it was arriving in the platform at around 4.45 am. However, he lost control and slipped into the tracks following which he came under the wheels of the train and died on the spot.

On being informed, Government Railway Police (GRP) reached and seized the body for post-mortem.
