Mahima Mishra’s house raided for the second time
Bhubaneswar: Police conducted fresh raids on his city based residence of Managing Director of Orissa Stevedores Limited Mahaima Mishra, accused in the murder case of Mahendra Swain. The raid was conducted on his residence in Baramunda on Sunday.
The team of Paradip police conducted the raid anticipating his presence. This was the second such raid on his house within a period of fortnight. While conducting raid police also interrogated Mahima Mishra’s wife Mala Mishra to get any evidence regarding his whereabouts. Police are on the lookout for Mishra in connection with the murder of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited (SSPL) General Manager Swain.
Earlier, police had raided Mishra’s farmhouse at Nischintakoili, his Empires Hotel at Saheed Nagar in Bhubaneswar and his house at Odia Bazar in Cuttack last month. A look out circular has also been issued against him. Denying him anticipatory bail, High Court had also rejected his interim protection.
It may be noted here that earlier on October 26, two miscreants had hurled crude hand bombs at the SUV in which Swain was going to his office and shots were fired at him near the Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony in Paradip. While Swain was fleeing to save himself, the miscreants fired two rounds at him, leading to his death on the spot.
Police have already arrested six accused including Rakesh Chaubey and Riyasat Hussain of Jamshedpur, Muhammad Samin of Jharkhand and Manoj Gochhayat and Shiva of Cuttack and Congress leader Bapi Sarkhel in this connection.
