Light to moderate rainfall in Odisha in 24hrs: IMD
Bhubaneswar: A few places over north Coastal Odisha and at isolated places over rest of the state will experience thundershower with light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours, said the local Met office in a release here on Tuesday.
“The cyclonic circulation over westcentral Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood now lies over westcentral and adjoining areas of northwest Bay of Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level and the yesterday’s trough in easterlies now seen as trough of low at mean sea level from Southwest Bay of Bengal to north Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level,” said Director of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas.
Under the influence of steep pressure gradient, strong surface wind is likely over deep sea areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea of north and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours, the Met bulletin said.
