Leopard in Capital: Fear grips Palashpalli residents

Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped the residents of Palashpalli area in the Capital City after a leopard was reportedly spotted in the locality on Sunday night.

The leopard was seen jumping off a boundary wall of a private firm here and the movement of the animal was captured in the CCTV installed at the office. However, the whereabouts of the wild animal is still unknown.

As per the CCTV footage, the leopard was jumping off the boundary wall in the night around 11 pm.

On the other hand, a security guard, who was on duty at a house in the area, has also seen the leopard in the night and informed the owner of the house. Similarly, a local resident of Palashpalli area has also seen the leopard in the night.

The Bhubaneswar city divisional forest officer, Ashok Mishra informed that a team was on its way to the spot. If found, the leopard will be tranquilised, Mishra said and asked the people not to be panic.
