Leopard captured in city, shifted to Nandankanan


Bhubaneswar: A leopard that had strayed into the airport area here two days ago was captured by the forest department officials near Cargo Gate of the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) late last night.

The big cat was shifted to the Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of the city.

According to reports, the forest department officials had laid a trap yesterday after they received information about the movement of the leopard at Palaspalli area in the city.

The big cat was trapped in a cage at around 3 am. A ten-member team was formed by the forest department personnel to capture the big cat.
