Mumbai: Young shuttler Lakshya Sen stormed into finals of the men’s singles of the 11th Tata Open India International Challenge on Saturday.
Lakshya defeated Thailand’s Kantawat Leelavechabutr and entered the finals of the tournament for the second consecutive time. Sen with 17-21, 21-9, 21-12 scoreline booked his place in the final.
Meanwhile, Ashmita Chaliha defeated Thailand’s Chananchida Jucharoen in straight sets in the women’s singles category. Ashmita made her way to the final with 21-19, 21-19 scoreline.
Ashmita will face Vrushali Gummadi in the summit clash as the latter defeated compatriot and third-seeded Mugdha Agrey in straight sets 21-11, 21-12 in the other semi-final.
