Lady passenger caught smuggling 2 Kg gold in her underwear

New Delhi: A woman passenger from Hyderabad was arrested by officials at New Delhi Airport after they found gold bars worth Rs. 64,38,960 in her possession.

The woman who was travelling from Dubai to New Delhi was identified as Farhat Unnisa. She was arrested by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers on Monday.

The AIU said in a statement that on the intervening night of August 21 and August 22 the officers intercepted the woman on suspicion after she landed from a Jet Airways flight from Dubai.

After examining the woman, the officials recovered gold bars weighing two kilograms and 160 grams, the AIU statement said.

The AIU said that the woman had hidden the gold bars inside her inner garments. The gold bars were seized and the passenger was arrested.

Further investigations are underway into the matter, the officials added.
