Lady doctor found dead in city
Bhubaneswar: A city-based lady doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her rented apartment in Sree Vihar in Patia under Chandrasekharpur police limits here on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Manswini Barik, 26, a native of Melchhamunda in Bargarh district. She was working in the Cardiology department of Care Hospital at Chandrasekharpur.
According to sources, the hospital cab service arrived at her apartment in the morning to fetch her but found the door locked from inside. The hospital workers then saw her lying on the bed in an unconscious state.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered her body by breaking open the door. Police also seized some injections from the spot. Later, the body was sent to the hospital for post-mortem and police launched a probe into the matter.
Sources said, during post-mortem it was found that the deceased was administered with an excess dose of intravenous sedative which resulted in her death. However, it is yet to be ascertained that whether she was took the extreme or was injected by someone else.
Meanwhile, the deceased woman’s father PK Bhol told the media persons that she was married three years ago to a doctor, who currently working in Bangkok. However, they got divorced last year.
Bhol said “Even after her divorce, she was never upset or depressed and always remained strong-willed. She was also employed and quite active in social media platform which rules out any kind of mental trauma.”
The deceased’s bereaved father have claimed that it is a well-planned murder as her daughter never showed any kind of suicidal tendency, even after an estranged relationship.
On the other hand, it is rumoured that the lady doctor was in a live-in relationship which the reason behind her death. Police is investigation the various aspects of the case.
