‘Kyant’ danger subsides: Govt withdraws all warnings, cancelled holidays reinstated


Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Mohapatra on Thursday informed about repeal of all warnings issued in the wake of recent cyclonic storm, Kyant.

SRC said the government has decided to withdraw all warnings which were issued while looking at the impending danger of the cyclonic storm. “There is no danger from Kyant cyclone now and we have decided to withdraw warnings,” he said.

“But the warnings for fishermen will still hold since the sea conditions would be rough for few more days since the cyclonic storm is due southwards towards Andhra Pradesh coast.

“The government holidays on diwali which were cancelled to prioritize disaster mitigation has also been restated,” He added.
