KIIT, KISS Extend Helping Hand to Family of Martyred DD Cameraman

Bhubaneswar: KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar have extended helping hand to the family of Achyuta Nanda Sahu, DD Cameraman who was killed in a Naxal ambush in Dantewada’s Nilawaya forest area on October 30, 2018. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Responding to a request by Doordarshan (DD) employees’ association, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS immediately announced to provide job to the widow of the martyred video journalist along with all possible assistance to the family.

Achyuta Nanda Sahu, who belongs to Bolangir district of Odisha, never shied away from challenging assignments. He took up assignments in strife-torn areas, including J&K, Northeast, border areas and disaster-hit regions.

He was part of a DD Team in Dantewada for pre election coverage of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly elections.

Professor Samanta saluted the courage of Achyuta Nanda Sahu and condemned the Maoist attack on police and media persons.
