Kerosene price to rise 25 paise per litre every 15 days
Bhubaneswar: The Centre has decided to increase the price of subsidised kerosene being distributed through dealers under the public distribution system (PDS) by 25 paise per litre every fortnight.
The state government has written to all district collectors about the price increase mechanism following the directives of the Union Ministry Petroleum and Natural Gas.
According to reports, the Centre imposes 5% GST on subsidised kerosene being distributed to poor people under the public distribution system and receives Rs 1200 as GST per 1000 litre.
With the rise in fuel price, the wholesale price of kerosene in the state has been notched up. The price of 1000 litre of kerosene is slated to be Rs 25205.13 in Paradip and Jatni, Rs 25232.14 in Jharsuguda and Rs 25122.8 in Balasore.
