Kerala nun rape case: Key witness Father Kuriakose found dead
Jalandhar: The sensational Kerala nun rape case took a new twist after Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, considered as the key witness of the case, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his room in a Jalandhar-based church today morning.
Though the exact cause behind the death is still unclear, the deceased Father’s family members have alleged of a controversy behind his death.
According to Dasuya DSP AR Sharma, Father Kuriakose was living at St. Paul’s Church in Dasuya and his dead body was recovered from his room. Besides, blood pressure tablets were also found at the spot.
Though there were no injury marks on the dead body, it was found that the deceased has vomited over the bed, the DSP said, and added that an investigation is underway.
It should be mentioned here that Father Kuriakose earlier claimed that the church made attempts to hush up the sexual assault complaints of the nun by Bishop Franco Mulakkal.
He had said that there were many nuns who left the church approached him with complaints, however, they refused to reveal the truth as they were afraid of Mulakkal.
In September, Bishop Mulakkal was sent to jail and spent three weeks. Recently, he also got conditional bail. The condition says he can’t enter Kerala also must surrender his passport and asked to appear before police once in every two weeks.
