Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday said that he was keeping a close watch on the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
His remarks came ahead of his visit to India for the second informal summit in Chennai. President Xi said his country would support Pakistan in issues related to its core interests.
The Chinese President had also reiterated that India and Pakistan should peacefully resolve relevant disputes through dialogue and consultation.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said during a press conference that his country’s position on the issue of Kashmir is consistent and clear. We call on India and Pakistan to step up dialogue on disputes including the Kashmir issue to enhance mutual trust and improve relations.
