KALIA Scheme: Financial Assistance To 4.5L Landless Odisha Farmers On Feb 15
Bhubaneswar: Around 4.5 lakh landless farmers of Odisha will be provided financial assistance under the KALIA Scheme on February 15, State Agriculture Department’s Principal Secretary Saurabh Garg said today.
Briefing media persons soon after a meeting of the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation Yojana working committee here, Garg said that an amount of Rs 5,000 each will be credited to the bank accounts of around 4.5 lakh landless farmers on February 5 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
The Agriculture Department’s Principal Secretary also informed that around 14 lakh small and marginal farmers of Odisha will be provided financial assistance on February 22.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the flagship scheme in order to accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty in Odisha.
The progressive and inclusive farmers’ welfare programme aims to empower small, marginal farmers and landless and will cover 92% of the cultivators, loanee as well as non-loanee farmers, sharecroppers (actual cultivators) and landless agriculture labourers.
