Junior clerk caught taking bribe in Bhadrak’s Dhamnagar CHC
Bhadrak: Vigilance sleuths today caught the junior clerk of a community health centre (CHC) in the district, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused, identified as Niranjan Parida, works as a junior clerk-cum-accountant at the Dhamnagar CHC, police said.
According to sources, Parida had demanded the bribe from one, Ananta Charan for clearance of the latter’s arrear salary.
Acting on the complaint filed by Charan, vigilance officers laid a trap and caught Parida red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the trouser pocket of the accused and during the wash, both hands gave a positive chemical reaction, said an official.
Subsequently, Parida was arrested and a search was also conducted at his residential house. He will soon be forwarded to the court, said the official.
