Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday marked its first Eid after the revocation of its special status amid massive security arrangements.
While normal life has been paralysed due to restrictions in certain areas of Kashmir, the administration has taken all necessary steps to ensure adequate supply of essential items to help locals.
On the other hand, Section 144 continues to remain imposed in certain sensitive areas.
Meanwhile, a security alert has been issued in Kashmir Valley ahead of Independence Day celebrations on August 15, citing a possible Pakistan-based terror attack.
Pakistan continues to maintain its aggressive stance on the Kashmir issue after the government scrapped Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir has been under lockdown since the government on August 5 abrogated Article 370, and has bifurcated the state into two union territories.
