JE outbreak: Vaccination to start after survey from Nov 23, BJP team to visit tomorrow


Malkangiri : With the death toll resulting out of Japanese Encephalities crossing 100 district administration on Sunday announced vaccination schedule for combating the dreaded disease.

Malkangiri Collector ordered the nodal agencies to coordinate along with Anganwadi, ASHA workers for the vaccination programme which is scheduled to begin after the end of survey November 22.

The programme will encompass children in the age groups of 1 to 15 will be inoculated with the vaccine.

“Vaccination will be done from door to door basis after the end of survey which will be done for three days on November 20, 21 and 22,” the Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarty.

Meanwhile, a five member team from Bhratia Janata Party (BJP) will visit the district on Monday and review the ground zero scenario prevailing on the backdrop of the JE outbreak.

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, state party president Basant Panda, BJP Legislature party leader KV Singhdeo among others will inspect the outbreak situation, party sources said.

The team is likely to visit affected villages, CHCs, PHCs and the District Headquarters Hospital and see whether the situation of JE is under control.

Party president Panda said they will submit reports to the Health Ministry and the President after reviewing the condition during the visit.
