Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Healthcare Services on Friday said the deteriorating situation of Japanese Encephalitis is under control.
Till now the total death toll due to the fatal JE outbreak is 74 out of which 27 patients have died due to JE while the rest 47 was due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), the Director of the Health Care Services Kailash Das said during a briefing here.
Similarly, 173 kids have returned home after recuperating from the deadly disease. While as of now 265 patients are under treatment out of which 132 are affected with AES and the rest 133 are inflicted with JE, he said.
In next two more weeks situation will be under the total control. “The trend of the deadly disease which was up scaling some weeks back has subsidized and will be under total control in next two weeks, he said.
