JE menace: Only surviving child returns to parents, thanks to Collector


Bhubaneswar : With the Japanese Encephalitis having panic situation in the Malkangiri district and claiming two to four lives every day, Collector, K.Sudarshan Chakraborty, personally took a six year old girl child (Shanti) from her unwilling parents for treatment at District Headquarters Hospital and handed her over to her anxious parents after complete cure from the fatal disease on Monday.
As per the sources, earlier Shanti youngest daughter of Sudershan and Ermi Padiami was also victimized of the same disease that took her elder brother and sister away so her parents had lost hope on her and had somewhat lost their mental balance.
They were unwilling to admit her in the hospital where they had lost their two children apprehending that they might also lose her.
The Collector meanwhile forcibly took the child and got her admitted in the hospital on November 4.With stay of 2 days in the hospital, Shanti was brought back home after being completely cured on November 6.
But after Shanti coming home, cheers have come in their face and with immense gratitude towards the Collector, they have now found a hope and a reason for their existence.
