Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik has justified dissolution of the state assembly. Malik said, a day after dissolving the assembly that his action was to keep at bay unwanted forces to form the government.
The Governor said these forces are detrimental to democracy. They will take advantage of the unholy alliance, he said.
He denied allegations that he is favouring the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre.
The Governor said: “I am not on the side of any party. I am with the people in the Valley and want good for them.”
The arch rivals PDP, NC along with Congress on Wednesday tried to form an alliance for a government in Jammu and Kashmir. The state was under Governor’s Rule since June when the BJP ended its ruling alliance with the PDP.
Governor Malik said that his decision to dissolve the Assembly was in the interest of the State. He said he has been receiving complaints for past fortnight of horse-trading.
