IPS Association demands pay parity with IAS cadre


New Delhi: The Indian Police Service (Central) Association in its annual general meeting urged the Union Government to grant pay and promotion at par with their IAS counterparts.

The association stressed on their “legitimate needs” be taken care of so that they can face complex security and law enforcement challenges without any worries like financial issues.

It added that since it does not get pay parity with IAS as per recommendations made by 7th pay commission, it feels neglected.

In a statement released by the association, which pointed out legitimate reasons for feeling concerned since when granting benefits become neglected too often then inter-services disparity are bound to arise.

Even after the endorsement by the Ministry of Home Affairs the proposal to establish parity among services it is still pending with the Departmnet of Personnel so a memorandum to demand the government for early redressal of grievances was also resolved during the meeting,
