Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the upcoming general elections, top police officials of five states held a preparatory meeting at DG Camp Office in Bhubaneswar today.
The senior police officials from the states of Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Telangana joined the discussion regarding the irregularities and problems faced during the elections.
Odisha police along with its neighbouring counterparts discussed the activities of Maoist cadres and money trading during the pre-election and the voting days. The interstate police will also be drafting a plan to tackle Maoist threat during the upcoming elections.
At inter-state coordination meeting, DGP RP Sharma stated that Odisha and its neighbouring states will be at alert and have better coordination in sharing of intelligence inputs as these states are facing LWE menace to some extent.
