Indian women’s kabaddi team beat Indonesia, enter semis


Jakarta: The Indian women’s kabaddi team defeated Indonesia 54-22 to register their fourth straight win in their last group tie match at 18th edition of Asian Games here on Tuesday.

With this the Indian team became the first team to enter the semi-final after defeating the teams in their Group games. The team with eight points is now on the top position of the Group A.

Captain Payel Chowdhury, Ritu Negi, Sonali, Randeep Khehra and Manpreet Kaur have shown an outstanding performance to lead the team to the semi-final.

In their opening encounter, Indian kabaddi team had thrashed Japan 43-12. In their second game, India beat Thailand 33-23.
