Bhubaneswar: The State Annual Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams could be held between last week of February 2017 and before Holi Dola Yatra holidays, said School & Mass Education Minister Debi Mishra while chairing a high level meeting here on Wednesday.
“With unanimity and after discussions with the board officials it has been decided that the matric board exams will convene sometime in the last week of February and will be completed by Holi. Though exact figures which could be assessed after the details come out but with respect to number of students enrolled for matriculation around 6 lakh 12 thousand students are likely to appear the exams,” Mishra said.
“Students would appear for exams in all six subjects. The detail calendar will be released after the board’s examination committee meets to decide today,” he said.
Similarly the Plus II exams are likely to be held in March 1st week, he added.
Last year about 6, 01,340 students tested their mettle in 2882 centers across the state. The Panchayat elections to be held in February 2017 had caused concern in authorities regarding conducting the major exams.
