Bengaluru: The Governor has given an ultimatum to HDK government to prove his majority in the House today by 6 pm, according to reports.
Observers said the political drama in Karnataka is at a flashpoint with Governor Vajubhai Vala giving an ultimatum to Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Vala had earlier directed Kumaraswamy to take floor test by 1:30 pm.
As for the discussion in the House, senior Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah said that at least 20 more members were yet to speak and the discussion is likely to stretch to Monday, putting speculations of trust vote today to rest.
Kumaraswamy said in the Assembly:”Let’s have a discussion. You can still form the government. Nothing urgent. You can do it on Monday or Tuesday also. I am not going to misuse power”.
