Bhubaneswar: The Forest and Environment and Culture and Tourism Departments on Thursday signed a MoU at the State Secretariat jointly to develop ecotourism locations in the state.
The MoU was signed in presence of dignitaries including Minister of Forest and Environment Bikram Keshari Arukh, Culture and Tourism Minister Ashok Panda and Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
There are plenty of opportunities of ecotourism in Odisha, said Tourism Secretary Arti Ahuja.
The potential of the state in the field of ecotourism has been highlighted in several national and international forums. According to the statistics of the current year, 10, 000 tourists have visited the ecotourism locations in the state.
However, the Tourism Department will look after construction of roads, publicity and put sign boards. In the preliminary phase, it has been decided to develop 30 tourist spots situated in 22 districts.
