Good News: North Eastern People to Get Subsidized Treatment in Delhi Hospitals

June 29, 2016 12:56 AM ISTNew Delhi: As a good news for the students and private sector workers hailing from North East and residing in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR), 32 Delhi hospitals are preparing to provide them with subsidized treatment. The decision was made public by Delhi IGP Robin Hibu, today.

According to reports, as a part of a reach-out program government has decided to make avail subsidized medical treatment to North East people who are residing in the country’s capital but are not eligible to be covered under central government health scheme (CGHS). Briefing on the new provision Hibu who is also a nodal officer for the people from the northeast claimed that, as many as 32 hospitals are being contacted for the purpose to make necessary arrangements. He cleared, big names like Fortis, Medanta, Apollo, and Max Health Care are roped in for the purpose.

As per the provision, the beneficiaries from North East, interested to avail the subisidized treatment in these listed hospitals would have to apply through a referral letter. These referral letters must be accompanied by the original ID proof as well as the attested copy of it from the respective institution where the applicant studies or works. Once the letter reaches the hospitals where the employee wants to undergo treatment, the facility would be provided by that hospital.
