Gold, foreign currency worth Rs 22 lakh seized from BPI Airport, 4 held


Bhubaneswar: Air Intelligence unit of Customs along with revenue officials today seized foreign currency and gold ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh from Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Acting on specific intelligence, Customs and revenue officials intercepted four passengers hailing from Delhi, Kolkata and Cuttack who arrived from Bangkok in an Air India flight.

During search, cosmetics, foreign currency and assorted items of gold of foreign origin was recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the matter is on.
