France decides to freeze assets of Masood Azhar


Paris: In an encouraging development, the French government has announced on Friday that it has decided to freeze the assets of JeM chief Masood Azhar.

According to a  joint statement issued by the French Interior Ministry, Finance Ministry and Foreign Ministry, France would also discuss putting Azhar on a European Union list.

The list is prepared about the people suspected of being involved in terrorism.

Media reports said Pakistan is under tremendous international pressure to act against terrorist groups including the JeM.

The JeM had owned responsibility for the February 14 suicide bomb attack that killed 40 CRPF troopers in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
