Four killed in three separate road accidents
Balasore/ Baripada/Bhubaneswar: Four persons were killed and four others sustained critical injuries in three different accidents in the state on Saturday.
According to sources, an accident occurred in Balaosre when an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a car coming from opposite direction near Rupsa on NH-60. The deceased and injured were travelling in auto-rickshaw.
The injured were rushed to the nearby community health centre (CMC) and later were shifted to the SCB medical in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.
The other accident was reported from Mayrubhanj district. According to sources, a woman identified as resident of Jharkhand died after she fell down from a moving bus near Maranda village under Bahalda tehsil in the district. The accident took place when the woman was trying to get down from the bus.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the spot soon after the incident.
Another accident from Bhubaneswar was reported. The incident happened when a mini truck hit a motorcycle near Pandara square. The rider died on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Gadhadhara Pradhan. Pradhan was working as a Home Guard in the Odisha police.
