Four dead as fire breaks out in Ludhiana’s hosiery factory


Ludhiana: Four persons including a contractor and three labourers were killed after a major fire broke out at a hosiery factory in Ludhiana’s Kalyan Nagar on Wednesday.

According to reports, the four employees were working on the top floor of the factory when a fire broke out on the ground floor at around 4.25 am today. The fire service personnel on receiving information reached the spot and doused the blaze.

“The bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem to ascertain the actual cause of their death while further investigation into the incident is underway,” Fire officer Amarbir Singh said.
