Four dead, 1 critical as car rams into roadside tree in Keonjhar
Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, four persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling dashed into a roadside tree near Saradhapur under Sadar police limits in Keonjhar district last night.
The deceased were identified as Kalpataru Tirthabasi Parida principal of Orissa School of Mining Engineering, Keonjhar , Chaitanya Bikash Sahu, Prashant Patra, and Rajesh Kumar Guru. The injured has been identified as Kamalakhya Parida, deceased Kalpatru’s son.
The incident happened last night at around 2 am when the victims were returning home after attending a Satsang program at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
According to sources, Kamalakhya was driving the car when he lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a roadside tree. While four persons were killed on the spot, the driver of the vehicle sustained critical injuries.
Some passerby informed the matter to the police, after which fire personnel rushed to rescue them. The fire officials with the help of gas cutter recovered the bodies and rushed the injured to the district headquarters hospital.
