Former Rajgangpur MLA Gregory Minz quits Congress
Sundergarh: Congress leader and former Rajgangpur MLA, Gregory Minz quit the party today after being denied ticket to contest ensuing polls from Rajgangpur Assembly seat.
In a letter addressed to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik, Minz officially resigned from the primary membership of Congress.
Gregory Minz, a two-time MLA from Rajgangpur assembly constituency, alleged that his work and contribution in the party went unseen and the Congress has been unfair to him.
In 2004 elections, Minz had outclassed sitting Rajgangpur BJD MLA Mangala Kisan to bag the assembly seat. He also retained his sitting MLA position against BJD candidate Benedict Tirkey in 2009. However, in 2014, Minz lost to Kisan.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Congress has named Dr C S Rajan as its candidate for Rajgangpur assembly seat in Sundergarh.
