Flyover collapse: Two more arrested today
Bhubaneswar: A day after Pratap Panda, chief of Panda Infra was arrested by the Commissionerate Police in connection with the Bomikhal Flyover collapse; today, suspended Assistant Engineer Kishore Rout and Project Manager Vipul Chakraborty was arrested in this connection.
Kishore Rout today surrendered before Twin City Commissionerate of Police in Bhubaneswar subsequently leading to his arrest who was booked after flyover collapse.
Rout surrendered before DCP Satyabrata Bhoi after which he was taken into custody.
Notably, Pratap Panda, chief of Panda Infra, the company that had undertaken the construction work of Bomikhal flyover which collapsed on Sunday killing one and injuring 12 others, on Monday afternoon surrendered before Commissionerate Police, said DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
Police arrested him after he surrendered himself before the DCP.
Notably, a case has been registered under Sections 304, 337, 338 and 34 of IPC at Laxmi Sagar police station against Praharaj, Assistant Engineer of the department Kishore Rout along with three members of the Board of Directors of Panda Infra – Sujata Panda, Pratap Panda and Santosh Panda.
Police had arrested Deputy Executive Engineer of Works Department Bansidhar Praharaj on Monday.
